HIGHLIGHTS

Established as a coffee farm in the late 1920s, Gibb’s Farm continues to work as a coffee plantation while retaining characteristics of life in East Africa during that era. The historic farmhouse offers a charming living room and cosy dining areas along with 17 beautifully decorated guest cottages, providing an elegant, comfortable home away from home. Outside, the farm’s organic vegetable and terraced flower gardens provide a wonderful sanctuary for afternoon tea or a quiet walk to impart a sense of contentment and wellbeing.

To allow you to fully experience the beauty of the farm, community and nature, Gibb’s Farm offers a variety of activities, adventures and opportunities to rejuvenate, explore and discover. Whether you wish to relax and recharge, explore the diverse natural surroundings or learn more about the local culture and traditions, you have a range of experiences to choose from.

Beyond the farm’s coffee fields and panoramic views, Ngorongoro Forest and the local village beckon. Experience a sense of place as you cycle the back roads of Karatu, learn about Iraqw culture while visiting a local family or explore centuries-old waterfalls and elephant caves. After an early lunch, experience a guided afternoon drive through the famous Manyara National Park to see hippos gathered at sunset at the Hippo Pools and observe rarely-seen nocturnal animals with an evening game drive to Lake Manyara National Park.

After the rigours of being on safari, indulge in a spa treatment to sooth and restore – Gibb’s Farm African Spa offers indigenous Maasai healing techniques, available in the privacy of your cottage.

ROOMS

All 17 guest cottages feature a unique theme, eucalyptus floors, hand crafted furniture, two queen sized beds, indoor and outdoor showers with a generous bathtub, a fireplace and private veranda. Each cottage is beautifully decorated to depict a theme, with artwork commissioned through the farm’s artist-in-residence program.

A cottage with a common living area and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms is available for families or couples traveling together.
