Lakshman Sagar is a secluded resort set around a private lake and a 19th-century hunting lodge, amidst 32 acres of rocky hills in Raipur, rural Rajasthan. With a philosophy focused on slow living, this intimate eco retreat is perfect for a more mindful getaway where you’ll have the space to relax and disconnect from modern day life. Glorious cuisine, a stunning setting and private cottages make Lakshman Sagar the ideal resort for couples, honeymooners and those looking for a little respite from the hectic streets of India.
Following a zero kilometer concept and reflective of the ‘slow‘ lifestyle of sourcing all materials from the vicinity, the architecture reflects the local way of living. Relax on the cabanas by the lake, sip a cocktail at sundown on a roof terrace and swim in a pool cut from the side of the mountain; embrace the natural, slower pace of life at Lakshman Sagar and you’ll leave refreshed, rejuvenated and wanting to return for more.
There are 12 individual mud and stone cottages at Lakshman Sagar, divided into two clusters, with six 900 sq mt cottages on either side of the lake. All rooms are elegantly designed with a story to tell, influenced by the indigenous Rajasthani architecture.
Brightly decorated interiors and sustainable local materials blend seamlessly with modern home comforts with an open plan bedroom and spacious living quarters. Each room opens into a private splash pool overlooking the lake with chic lounges for you to relax and take in the panoramic view of the landscape.
Rooms start at £130 per night.
Please note that the property is only recommended for children from the age of 12 years and over due to the rocky terrain and steep hills. If a guardian wishes to travel with a child below 12 years, a written letter stating the sole responsibility of the child should be submitted on arrival.
All 12 cottages consist of king beds and extra beds are not available. However, the hotel can arrange twin beds in special cases.
