There are no early wake up calls, guests are encouraged to lie in and enjoy the surroundings. The ‘Do Nothing Activity’ (DNA) around one of the most magnificent pools in the world is very popular, especially at the end of a safari!
The main building, known as the Zambezi House, is an impressive Edwardian-style entertainment area with high plantation ceilings, a comfortable sitting room with fireplace and a well-stocked library with an interesting collection of books, journals and board games.
A host of activities await young and old, at The River Club as well as around the Victoria Falls area. In the late afternoon, take a leisurely sundowner cruise up the Zambezi river where you may pass the odd elephant, hippo or crocodile and an abundance of colourful bird life.
The highlight of a game viewing trip in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park is the chance of seeing White Rhino, some of the only remaining in Zambia. The park is also home to a wide variety of animals including giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, elephants and buffalo.
For the thrill seekers, enjoy an afternoon drink at Devils Pool, see the world from the back of an elephant or spend an afternoon white water rafting!
Just half an hour’s drive from The River Club are the mighty Victoria Falls, a spectacular sight and one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.
